Alternative
A Submagic alternative that edits the whole reel
Submagic is good at one thing: dressing up a clip you've already cut, with animated captions, zooms and b-roll. Instant Studio starts a step earlier. It takes your raw clips and a reference reel, picks the takes, paces the story and then adds the captions and graphics, in your brand's style.
Short answer
Submagic decorates a clip you've already edited: captions, zooms, b-roll. It's priced in dollars, has no free plan, and Starter allows 15 videos a month (as of 25 October 2026). Instant Studio does the whole edit from your raw clips and a reference reel, with Hinglish captions in Roman script, for ₹2,999 a month plus your own Claude plan. No credits.
What Submagic does, and what it leaves to you
Submagic deserves credit. Its animated captions, auto-zooms and b-roll suggestions made a lot of short-form content better, and it has pages for many caption languages, including Hindi.
But look at the starting point. You upload a video that's already cut. Picking the best take, trimming retakes and pauses, building a story from many clips, matching a reel you saw last week: that work still happens before Submagic, by you or an editor.
Instant Studio is built for that missing part. It's a full editing system, not a finishing layer.

The cost over a year
Submagic Starter billed yearly is $12 a month, so about $144 a year for 15 videos a month. Pro billed yearly is $23 a month. Those are dollar prices, so your card's exchange rate and foreign-transaction charges apply.
Instant Studio is ₹2,999 a month (about $32), so it costs more than Submagic Starter. What you get for it is the whole edit from raw clips, with no video cap from us. You also pay Anthropic for your Claude plan, and that plan is what does the editing. If you already pay for Claude for other work, editing uses the same plan, within its usage limits.
Why "the whole reel" matters
The hard part of a reel isn't the captions. It's the decisions:
- Which take? You said the hook three times. Claude reads the transcript and keeps the clean one.
- What goes first? It builds the hook in the first seconds, then the proof, then the ask.
- What's the rhythm? It cuts pauses and filler, and paces cuts to your music on montages and unboxings.
- What does your brand look like? It uses your fonts, your colours and your caption look, not a preset.
Before it renders anything, it writes a motion sheet, a plan of every cut, caption and graphic, so you can change the plan instead of redoing the edit. Then you give notes in plain English, like "make the price pop" or "drop the second retake", and it re-renders in minutes, in 9:16 and 16:9 from the same edit.
When Submagic is the better pick
- Your videos are already edited and you only want animated captions and zooms on top.
- You work on a phone or in a browser and don't have a Windows PC or Mac with 8 GB+ RAM.
- You don't want a Claude plan. Instant Studio runs on your own Claude, so you need a paid plan with Claude Code.
- You need many interface languages and a polished web app more than you need control over the edit.
The honest cost of Instant Studio
- ₹2,999 a month, billed automatically through Razorpay. Cancel anytime; updates included while you're subscribed. No credits, no watermark, no per-reel fees.
- A paid Claude plan with Claude Code, billed separately by Anthropic. Pro is enough to start. Heavy editing days can hit your plan's usage limits.
- A computer: Windows 10/11 or macOS, 8 GB RAM or more (16 GB renders faster), about 5 GB free.
- Your own footage. It edits what you shoot. It doesn't create stock or AI-generated footage.
If you're paying an editor to cut the reel and Submagic to caption it, Instant Studio replaces both steps. See the cost of hiring an editor →
