Reel hook generator: 15 opening lines in English or Hinglish

The first line decides whether anyone watches the rest. Pick your business, what you want from the reel and the language, and get 15 hooks written for that goal. Shuffle for more, copy the one you like.

Short answer

Choose your niche, your goal (enquiries, followers, trust or a sale) and English or Hinglish, then press Generate. You get 15 hooks to say in the first three seconds and show as on-screen text. Replace anything in [brackets] with your real details.

Runs in your browser from a hand-written template library. No AI calls, nothing uploaded. Replace [brackets] with real details.

    How to use these hooks

    1. Pick the goal first. A reel built to get enquiries opens differently from one built for followers. Enquiry hooks name a buying moment ("before you book…"). Follower hooks promise ongoing value ("part 1 of 5"). Trust hooks show the person behind the business. Sale hooks lead with the offer and a deadline.
    2. Fill in the brackets with something true. [city], [number], [price] and [offer] are there so the hook fits your business. Never invent a number or a client quote. A specific, real detail ("12 years", "Sector 62", "₹1,999 till Sunday") beats any template.
    3. Say it and show it. Speak the hook in the first one to three seconds, and put the same words on screen from the first frame. Many people scroll with the sound off.
    4. Cut the silence before it. Most weak reels lose people on a half-second pause or a "hi guys" before the hook. Start on the first word.

    What makes a hook work

    • It names the viewer. "Home buyers in Pune" or "gym beginners" tells the right person this is for them, and that's what makes them stop.
    • It opens a loop. A question, a mistake or a number ("3 questions…") creates a gap the viewer wants closed.
    • It matches the reel. If the hook promises three tips, deliver three tips. Hooks that over-promise get skipped next time, and the algorithm notices the drop in watch time.
    • It sounds like you. Hinglish hooks feel natural for many Indian audiences; for B2B, export or tech buyers, English usually works better. Test both.

    Test hooks without reshooting

Record two or three hooks at the start of the same shoot, then post the same reel with a different opening a week apart. Compare 3-second hold and average watch time in Instagram Insights, not likes. After five or six tests you'll know which hook types your audience responds to.

    Questions people ask

Are these hooks written by AI?

No. They come from a library of about 120 hook templates we wrote by hand, grouped by goal and language, and filled with phrases for your niche. Nothing is sent to an AI service, and the tool works offline once the page has loaded.

What makes a good reel hook?

A good hook names the viewer, a problem or a result, and gives a reason to keep watching, in under three seconds. It should be said out loud and shown on screen as text, because many people watch with the sound off.

Should I use a hook that promises a number, like 3 tips?

Yes, if the reel actually delivers it. Numbers set an expectation and make people wait for the last tip. Replace any bracketed placeholder such as [number] or [city] with something true for your business.

How long should the hook be on screen?

Keep the on-screen hook text to about 6 to 10 words and show it from the first frame. Cut the spoken hook to the first one to three seconds, and remove any pause before it.
