Sound effects for reels, on the exact frame

A reel can look pro and still sound like a silent movie: titles fly in with no whoosh, a big number lands with no hit. Instant Studio now adds real recorded sound effects to every edit, timed to the frame the graphic moves, and checks they're in sync before you see the render.

Short answer

Instant Studio adds real recorded sound effects to your edit: a whoosh on each transition, a hit when a title lands, a pop on caption keywords, a click on screen recordings. Every sound is placed on the exact frame the graphic moves and checked for sync before you see the render. Sounds come from your own folder or free, openly licensed recordings (CC0 first), never fake beeps. Included in ₹2,999 a month.

Why do Claude edits sound like a silent movie?

Most AI editing setups stop at pictures. The cuts, captions and motion graphics are there, but the sound layer is empty, so the reel feels flat even when it looks finished. When a sound layer is added at all, it usually fails in one of two ways:

  • Fake sound. A tone or beep generated in code because no real sound was at hand. Viewers hear the difference instantly.
  • Out-of-sync sound. A good recording that lands a few frames early or late. Claude can't listen to the render, so it can't tell, and a whoosh that misses the transition is worse than no whoosh.

How Instant Studio adds sound effects

Step What happens
1. Find the moments Claude reads the motion sheet, the plan of every cut, caption and graphic, and lists each moment that should make a sound, with its exact frame.
2. Pick the sound Each moment gets the right kind: whoosh for slides and transitions, hit for title slams and big numbers, pop for caption keywords and stickers, click for screen recordings, ding for prices and counters, riser before a reveal.
3. Source a real recording Your brand's own SFX folder first, then Openverse, a free library of millions of openly licensed sounds. CC0 sounds are preferred.
4. Place on the frame Each sound is lined up by its own attack (or, for whooshes, its loudest point) so it hits on the frame, not near it.
5. Mix under your voice Effects sit on their own layer and duck while you speak. Your voice and music stay untouched.
6. Check the sync Every placed sound is re-measured. Anything more than one frame off is fixed before the render reaches you.

How many sound effects should a reel have?

Fewer than you think. A talking-head reel works with roughly one effect every two to three seconds, never on top of the hook's key word, and fewer still when there's music. Instant Studio follows that by default. If you want more punch, or a cleaner sound, say so in a note ("softer whooshes, no pops on captions") and it's saved to your design system for the next reel.

Openverse only indexes openly licensed media; each sound keeps its own licence. Instant Studio picks CC0 sounds first, which need no credit. If it uses a sound that asks for attribution, it writes a sfx-credits.txt next to your render so you can paste the credit into your caption. It never uses sounds licensed for non-commercial use only on client or ad work. For anything sensitive, use your own licensed sound pack: drop it in your brand's SFX folder and it's used first.

Try it on your next edit

Sound effects are on by default in the latest Instant Studio. Open any project and ask: "add sound effects" or "make it sound pro". You'll see the list of effects in the motion sheet, and you can remove or swap any of them with a note.

Questions people ask

Can Claude add sound effects to a video?

Yes, with the right tools. In Instant Studio, Claude lists every moment in the edit that should make a sound (transitions, title slams, caption pops, counters), picks a real recording for each, places it on the exact frame and checks the sync. Claude can't hear audio on its own, so the timing comes from the edit plan and a measured check, not from guessing.

Where do the sound effects come from?

From your own sound-effects folder first, then from Openverse, a free search engine for openly licensed media with millions of recordings from sources like Freesound and Wikimedia Commons. It prefers CC0 (no attribution needed) sounds and saves a credits file for anything that needs attribution.

Are the sound effects AI-generated?

No. Instant Studio uses real recordings. If nothing real fits a moment, it can make a simple sound in code, but it tells you that sound is synthesized.

Will the sound effects drown out my voice or music?

No. Effects go on their own layer, mixed under your voice and ducked automatically while you talk. Your voice and music tracks aren't changed, and you can ask for softer, fewer or no effects in a note.

Is this included in the ₹2,999 plan?

Yes. Sound effects are part of the Instant Studio update, included for everyone subscribed. There are no credits or per-sound fees.
